If you are not completely satisfied with the way your smile looks, you should be! Dental veneers from Complete Dental Coorparoo can completely transform your smile.
What are dental veneers?
Advances in dental technology have made dental veneers an option that is now readily available and completely achievable for anybody who is looking to transform their smile. Veneers, also known as laminates, are thin, tooth-coloured shells that are hand-crafted and shaped, by our team at Complete Dental, to bond to the front of your teeth.
You might need dental veneers if:
- Your teeth are discoloured
- Your teeth / tooth is chipped
- You have a gap between your teeth
Some patients will choose veneers over a crown if the tooth remains strong and healthy enough to support the veneer.
How are dental veneers applied?
During a veneer treatment, our highly skilled and experienced Coorparoo dentists will remove a thin layer from your tooth and take an impression to ensure optimal results. Your veneers will then need to be fitted and placed at a separate occasion. These appointments usually take around 1-2 hours per visit.
How long do dental veneers last?
If you continue to practice good oral hygiene habits, your veneers will be with you for many years to come.
Types of dental veneers
At Complete Dental Coorparoo, we are happy to offer two different types of veneers for your unique case:
Porcelain veneers are an ideal solution for chipped, uneven, or discoloured teeth. The teeth are prepared by removing a small amount of the front surface of the tooth to allow space for the porcelain veneers. A thin piece of porcelain or composite resin is then permanently cemented to the front teeth.
Direct Laminate Veneers
Direct laminate veneers are a conservative alternative to porcelain veneers as they require a smaller amount of the removal of tooth structure. These veneers are created by applying layers of bonded ceramic composite to the surface of the tooth which will then set on the teeth. This is then polished to create a natural looking tooth. Direct laminate veneers are easier to apply on suitable teeth, but are not as strong as porcelain veneers and may not be as durable or long lasting.
